Xahnan passed Xahssa in the hallway.
"Where's Max?" II asked.
Xahnan shrugged. "That's what I'm trying to find out."
Xahssa frowned. It wasn't like Max to just run off. Or at least, not without making a big scene beforehand. "I'll help too."
It was peculiar, Maxsodin thought, how easy it was to control them. She sat perched upon a tree stump in the woods by Castle Oblivion. Heartless were everywhere. With a wave of her hand, two heartless waddled over to her.
"Cage up your friends," Max said in a voice that was barely audible.
The two heartless took one of the cages Max had conjured and began ushering the other heartless inside. Maxsodin watched; impassive. She could feel the connection she and the heartless had. It reverberated in the air, thrummed dully in her ears.
The two heartless returned to her, staring with their emotionless, yellow eyes.
Good work, Maxsodin told them mentally. They nodded and disappeared.
Max turned her attention to the caged heartless. They stared at her, seeming to accept the fate given to them. Max sighed, getting up from the tree stump and opening the cage. The heartless didn't move. They stared at Max, awaiting her command.
She didn't know why, but this both annoyed III and made her feel powerful.
Disperse. Begone from this realm, she commanded.
In a split second, the cage lay empty. The heartless were gone, along with the feeling in the air.
Maxsodin suddenly felt drained. She slumped back on the stump, still not wanting to return to the castle. She had a score to settle in Wonderland.
