VI meets VIII

"What are you doing?" Xahssa was hunched up against the kitchen door, peeking through to keyhole. I could hear Max's laugh and a male voice from inside. Must be the new member I thought to myself. Xahssa turned around, a murderous look in her eyes.
"Can't you keep your voice down? After all, you control sound Seycax." Someone was touchy today.
"What's got your goat? I thought you'd be happy. There's a new member."
"He cooked. In. My. Kitchen. And he used seafood." I had to force myself not to giggle. Of course that was what she was mad about. With water as her element, we were only aloud to use fish when she was away on a mission.
"He didn't know, its not his fault. He's new, give him a break. Nexand won't like it if you flip off on him so early. If you don't yell at him this whole week, I'll buy you your new toaster. How's that?" She seemed to think it over. Nexan said no new toaster, but she didn't want Lexamich not to trust us either. Xahssa was just funny about new members. I remember the first time I met her. She was pretty harsh for about 6 months.
"Fine. Just make sure he cleans up. By the way. Weren't you supposed to be watching her?" she said pointing with her head to the kitchen.
"Yeah. I was still straightening up the library and she got board. She wouldn't stop begging me for rum so I sent her down here to wait. I figured she could annoy you." She gave me a ha-ha, I would have killed you if it would have happened look. "I'm going to go introduce myself, you keep enjoying yourself out here. Or I left the library unlocked, you said you wanted to look for a new book."
'Thanks, that might help me calm down."
"Help yourself to Max's rum, she doesn't know how much I keep at a time." I said tossing her the keys to the cabinet.
And with that I pushed into the kitchen to find myself pulled into a hug by a singing girl, one who smelled like alcohol.
"Max, what have you been drinking?"
"Nnnoothhin'" She said with slurred speech. Looking at the table I discovered the new member and... Brax's vodka. Of course.
Looking past her I said,"Hi, I'm Seycax, VI, power over Sound. I run the library, gardens and watch Max.You must be Lexamich. Welcome. Oh, and by the way, don't give her alcohol. She can only have so much a day."
"Thanks for the tip. Would have been nice earlier." He said, eyes wandering to Max who was still clinging to me singing My heart bleed for you. One look and silence.
"Did you make this?" I asked grabbing a plate from the cabinet and putting some of the Alfredo on my plate.
"Yeah but I'm not much of a cook."
"I'm sure it tastes fine. I haven't had something like this in a long time." It tasted phenomenal. I hadn't tasted it since I was in Radiant Garden.
"Its great." Max had come to realize that she wasn't making sounds and was pouting. "Can you be nice and not sing?"
"....." She shook her head.
"Okay then." With a snap of my fingers she had her voice back. Lexamich seemed amused.
"Why are you always soo mean???"
"Maybe if you stopped acting like a child I wouldn't do that."
".......This is really good." Now that she was done pouting, she was stuffing her face.
Lexamich, Max and I all looked at each other and laughed. Maybe we were really turning around. I hoped, we had so much sadness and seriousness and ready to kill each other *coughMAXBRAXcough*, that we all needed a much needed rest.
