Somewhere in the unconscious depths of her mind, Maxsodin was pacing.
Somewhere, in those depth, she was worrying.
And somewhere, the real Maxsodin was trapped.
Maxsodin kept hearing the occasional faint scream, setting her nerves on edge. Around her a feeling of peace was attempting to penetration her mind, to engulf her senses and block her out for good. And yet she had the strength to resist it. She had a REASON to resist it.
Pacing, ever pacing. Maxsodin didn't think she could stop. Pacing... pacing...
There was no way out. The Darkness had no weakness, no point for her to focus her effort at. And yet Maxsodin refused to think she was finished.
Somewhere she was trapped. Somewhere...
The feeling of peace began to ooze into her tired form. Slowly, her determination began to ebb. Maxsodin could not help but feel a wave of exhaustion sweep over her. Her eyes drooped. As she tried vainly to keep them open, the stronger the need to close them was.
And as the eye lids of the real Maxsodin began to close for the last time, Maxsodin felt something. In her chest, slightly to the left. It was a feeling of warmth. A slow smile spread on her face as she placed a hand on that source of heat. Concentrating on it as she gave her last effort to break free, to gain control again.
Concentrating on the one thing that separated her from everyone else.
The tiniest dust of what she still had from her previous life.
Her heart.
